Foothills YSA: May 3-9

Hi everyone!

So this week we were trying to contact a less-active girl in our ward and while we were in her complex we felt like we should knock on a door so we did and a really nice lady named Sophie answered! She invited us inside and we shared the Restoration with her. The Spirit was so strong as we taught about the First Vision and she told us she knew something like that would have to happen for the gospel to be restored instead of reformed! It was awesome! Sophie asked where we met for church and what time it starts before we even invited her at the end of the lesson! We referred her to the missionaries serving in her ward, so I have no idea how she's doing now. I love how it all happened with a simple inspired knock!

Another day we were in Boulder City at an apartment complex and I had a feeling that there was someone we needed to see, so we played the "hot and cold" game with the Holy Ghost and found the person we were looking for! For the first few minutes while we were talking with her, we thought she was a non-member but then she told us she was baptized when she was a kid. We shared Helaman 5:12 with her and she started to cry and told us that the day before she found out that her cancer was back. She knew God sent us to her to remind her that He loves her and is mindful of her!

On one of our exchanges, I challenged the sister I was with to beat her record of how many copies of the Book of Mormon she's given to people in a day (12) the next morning while we were still together. It was awesome! We met tons of cool people who wanted a copy and we saw many miracles because of it :)

We were finally able to contact a girl named Ashley that we felt like needed to be in our plans frequently for the last few months. She has a lot of medical issues and was just going through a very difficult time when we met her. She told us she'd been reading from the scriptures every day--the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, AND the Pearl of Great Price! We've been meeting with her every day since then, and that rarely ever happens!

Ruby is progressing very well and is so excited for her baptism! Jordan wants to serve a mission and go to the temple as soon as possible! And Shawna just told us she picked a date to be baptized and invited all of her friends! She's going to be baptized on June 3!

I hope you all have a great week! Alma 34:8-10 "And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it. For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made. For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice."

Love,
Sister Bedont
